I have had a sciatica pain for over 2 months now, it is progressively got worse and in turn has turned into a trapped nerve and its excruciating pain. I worked in a call centre and I know this made this worse as i had to sit for 9 hours a day trying to go for brief walks but never worked. I have now left the call centre because of this and want to concentrate 100% in getting myself back to injury-free. The injury originally came from when I was at football training and a team-mate jumped into side of me. I have been going to see Physiotherapists all being useful but the pain is not subsiding, just wondering what you think my best option here….continue Physio as norm – exercises, regular stretching or think of chiropractor or even surgery. I need this to be fixed withing 2 months for sporting reasons – what is the timescale for this kind of injury?
Thanks for the help…it is hard to find out the best possible way to treat this as everyone is different…some ppl say no chiropractor some say do and its hard to choose. Does heat packs help much ? 2 months from now, i have the chance to play football in usa so its imperative a get this sorted asap lol
as you probably know each person responds differently to each treatment. but i found the chiropractors or osteopaths very good for sciatica.
however my mum really benefited from reflexology, she swears by it………
try them, if not i would suggest you go to your doctors for a pain management course.

I had sciatica for 3 months and was a the point of thinking it was never going to pass. I found that strong painkillers helped a bit but physio was very helpful for me. We are all different of course but perhaps a mixture of the 2 would help you best. Good luck x

I sympathise sweetheart. I have permanent nerve damage in the Sciatic nerve, the pain can be excruciating.
You can ask to be referred to the local Pain Management Clinic; usually run in the local Hospital. I find the medication prescribed by them really helps. I am taking Gabapentin. I wonder if your GP would be able to help. There may be a long wait for a Hospital appointment.
Hope your pain eases soon.

BOWEN THERAPY is the best. It could take as little as a couple of treatments to have this fixed. Physio end up consiting you a fortune and hardly does much. Chiropractic re-aligns the spine and bones but the muscles are going to pull it all back out again, so you have to go back over and over for it to stay away. Bowen therapy supports the entire muscle and skeletal systems and works to keep your body in alignment. PLEASE give a bowen therapist a call and see what they think about your treatment options. MY frozen shoulder was fixed in 3 visits.

My mum has sciatica, and if you go to holland and barret then ask for these tablets called home medics or home remedy or something like that, (just ask the people for sciatica tablets) and you will get this little orange bottle and it has tablets in which help with the pain, you can take them every half an hour and it will help you, and they dont cost much, and they really help

Treat the inflammation with cold packs. Ice packs wrapped in a towel placed on the area of pain for up to 20 minutes several times a day help reduce inflammation. This treatment is especially beneficial for the first 48 hours of pain. Or try searching for homeopathic remedies products that will help you to overcome sciatica naturally.
