Are you looking for fast and pain-free sciatica treatment? This has been my aim for the last few years and I have trawled just about every site available on the subject.
I reckon that I must have spent over 6 months hours reading info and advice on the web about how to get relief from sciatica. Although there were points when I thought I’d found the perfect cure, the sciatica would eventually come back. This never-ending process of trial and error without success can really wear down your hopes of recovery.
Then one day I was on the web and coincidentally I saw a book and dvd pack called “Lose the Back Pain”. I thought it was a chance worth taking and bought myself a copy. It turns out that it’s book is a sciatica treatment bible, and has worked wonders for me.
If you’re interested in this product, you can find it here: -

pain and a friend of mine thinks I should go see a Chiropractor.
I had sciatica and backpain about 8 years ago. I went to a chiropractor regularly 3 times a week for three weeks. It never improved one iota.
what is some treatment for a sciatic nerve?
There are several treatments for sciatica, depending on how long you have had sciatica, the cause for the irritation of the nerve, and what has been tried before. Treatments include physical therapy, anti-inflammatories, rest, pain medicine, steroid injections and as a last resort surgery.
I have extreme sharp pain in my lower right back, and the pain shoots down my leg into my knee aswell.
What should I do? Are there any treatments or should i see a doctor or a physio?
first off bless your heart, sciatica is absolutely awful. I suffer with it on a regular basis, and I would not wish it upon my worse enemy.
First off, a trip to the doctor would be a wise idea. He will prescribe pain medication and muscle relaxers. If it is unbearable, you are unable to walk on your own, or are losing control of your urinary tract or bowels, go to the ER immediately…even calling an ambulance if needed so that they can get you out of the house. Extreme pain may raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels as well, so don’t wait until you are close to having a stroke before you seek medical attention.
Secondly, bed rest. You will probably need to have someone there to help take care of you and whatever housework/childcare that needs to be done.
Third, elevate below the knee and use a heating pad. This will help relieve some of the pressure on your back.
Usually it will take a few days for the worse to pass, but once it does, you will find that walking and stretching will help tremendously (I usually will get on the riding mower and mow the yard..the vibration does wonders)
If you have chronic issues like I do, after you consult a doctor and have a thorough exam, you may want to look into chiropractic care. I hear alot of people have great success with that. I have not personally tried it (distrust…but that’s not a phobia that I push on others)
I hope you are feeling better soon!!
I have a slipped disc and a sciatica for 2 months now. NHS referred me to an osteopath but today he told me if I don’t agree to have an operation he will discharge me, so he did so. I did not want to have an injection nor operation. He said if his treatments have not improve my condition by now I need an operation. But today I went privately to a physio and she said I don’t need an operation just a good physio who can take care of me. Who should I trust more? To be honest I wasn’t happy with the treatment I had from the osteopath as he never did any massage on me, I saw him once every 2 weeks (5 or 6 times altogether). Any advise? I will have a MRI scan next week by the way.
the NHS usually only offer a short course of treatment. if things don’t get any better then the usually refer you. if you really don’t want to have the operation then i would go with the physio, but i guess if after that it still isn’t better then you would be back to needing the operation…..its up to you who you trust really.
best of luck x
What is the best treatment for sciatica and alcoholic neuropathy? I like have pain that starts from my hip (Lumbar region of my spine) radiating to the posterolateral side of right leg and further down, no numbness or tingling. Sciatica confirmed diagnosis and pain increases with consumption of alcohol.
Is there any therapy good enough to relieve this pain ?
Any medications as permanent cure ?
Thank you!
I haven;t the slightest idea why alcohol would make it worse. Are you sure the doctor said sciatic nerve. Some have nerve problems and think it’s the sciatic nerve but, it’s not.
You’d have to know from where it’s originating from, what part of the back, which vertebrae and then make a plan for aide.
I have this back pain and leg pain over many months. I was going through physical therapy and regular exercise. But the pain continue to bother me. Is there a better treatment other than regular exercise.
You never will eliminate it,, the best you can hope for is to control it.

And be careful about the chiropractors!! They may be good for some things but I’m not too sure on nerves. I’m disabled partly due to a chiropractors ‘adjustments’ Have a real doctor refer you to one if he thinks it will help
Had an epidural injection once last month. Was told by Dr not to have it again. Medications, especially pain killers have side effects. Advised to go for herbal remedies/treatment and physiotheraphy.
The Sciatic nerve is a large one the comes out of the spinal area. When this nerve acts up, there’s no stopping it, and, it becomes more irritated with time.
Why the doctor told you "not to get any more injections" is not known.
If done right at a pain clinics, it should bring almost instant relief for months sometimes. The Cortisone steroids both heals and sooths the nerve. I had many of this over the last fourteen years.
Pain killers, like Darvocet, Vicodin, Percocet, any medication has side effects, But, so do herbal remedies and, in fact, herbal remedies have more due to the FDA does not recognize these treatments and, does not check them or, find out what they contain.
Sometimes these herbal remedies can be devastating. I know of one "Healer" in Cal. that uses these remedies and claims to have cure cancer and, blindness so, I guess it’s your choice, to help yourself, or mess with an unknown product.
light pains on the scrotum; difficulty in having erection (not surprised, due to diabetes; had sciatica once; pains sole of feet and toes; get some relief when petroleum jelly or some oil like olive oil is applied; desparately need cure
Find a massage therapist that specializes in sports therapy to help relieve the sciatica pain. They should also have extensive knowledge of reflexology, a type of massage for the feet.
As for the scrotum pain, I’m just not sure about that one. Saw Palmetto is great for prostrate issues, but you must take it daily and in large doses. Not sure if that would help with the pain, though.
Of course, you probably already know that you MUST change your diet since you have diabetes. Exercise goes a long way for diabetics also. But most diabetics I know, don’t do anything but take the pills/shots and go on with their lives the best they can.
Last Thursday my dog was paralyzed from the waist down. took him to the vet and they said that he would need back surgery for $8K and I said that wasn’t going to happen so there is another treatment we opted for an that was to feed him steriods and muscle relaxers…..so far, he is walking but I was hoping someone might have an answer as to why he was immobilized. One day he is fine and overnight he’s not.
yes…we have a bulldog that has issues with that from time to time… she has to go in for a shot and be on meds for several days afterwards
